The list  below begins with journals that clearly label cultural studies as their primary focus. While the titles in this first section might not all define cultural studies in identical fashion, they nonetheless all claim an explicit allegiance to cultural studies as an intellectual and political project.

The remaining subcategories revolve around the primary editorial agendas of the journals in question. Some of these subcategories, of course, are not mutually exclusive (a "media"-focused journal, for instance, may still publish articles on "gender/sexuality" or "marxism/socialism"), and so some journals appear under more than one heading. The journals included under these headings are all "cultural studies friendly," but are not exclusively (or even necessarily primarily) dedicated to publishing cultural studies work.
