Below are a few links to places that I find useful. I have divided them into two broad categories.

Academic Research

Communication Resources

The National Communication Association is the primary organization for communication scholars and professionals.

The International Communication Association is also an important resource for communication scholarship.

The American Communication Association is a third entity dedicated to communication studies.

Created by Dan Oetting at Northwestern University, The Douglass Project is a wonderful resource for public address speech texts.

Government and Political Resources

The White House

The Senate

The House of Representatives

The Thomas site contains the Congressional Record and other material.

If you use RealAudio then you might like the Supreme Court Oral Argument site which contains actual recordings of cases argued before the bench.

Cornel has built a site containing Supreme Court Decisions.

The people who conduct the United States Census also post useful material.

Finally, the Library of Congress is always a wealth of information

Linux

I admit it, I'm a Linux geek.  If you don't know what Linux is, check out the official Linux homepage or Linux.Com.

My favorite distribution of Linux is Mandrake 7.0, and my preferred X-Windows server is KDE.

I visit many of the usual Linux related sites including Slashdot, Freshmeat, Linux Today and Themes.Org.

Visor and Palm Pilot

As if my allegiance to Linux weren't enough, I also make considerable use of a blue Visor Deluxe from Handspring.

To maintain this technological fetish, I visit Visor Central and PalmGear HQ.
